The Institute for Innovative Learning (IL), Mahidol University<\/strong>, welcomed a delegation from the School of Management and Information Technology \u2013 Asia and China Institute (SMIT-ACI), De La Salle\u2013College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB), Philippines<\/strong>, on August 18, 2026, for a campus visit and benchmarking exchange.<\/p>\n

The delegation was led by Dr. Catherine Mojado, Associate Dean<\/strong>, together with Dr. Dennis Alfaro<\/strong> and Mr. Jacob Catayoc<\/strong>. The visiting delegation was warmly welcomed by the administrators and faculty members of the Institute for Innovative Learning, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Pirom Chenprakhon, Deputy Director for Research and Innovation; Asst. Prof. Dr. Wararat Wongkia, Program Chair; and Dr. Supan Yodyingyong<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The benchmarking visit provided an opportunity for DLS-CSB representatives to exchange knowledge and perspectives on Mahidol University\u2019s approaches to innovation leadership and digital transformation in higher education<\/strong>. The delegation expressed particular interest in exploring practices and experiences related to the development of an innovative learning ecosystem and the integration of emerging technologies into education.<\/p>\n

Key areas of interest included the learning ecosystem and educational facilities, innovative learning practices, active learning spaces, educational technology (EdTech), the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, and AI-enhanced learning<\/strong>. The exchange provided an opportunity for both institutions to share perspectives on how learning environments, digital technologies, and innovative pedagogical approaches can be integrated to support contemporary learners and educators.<\/p>\n

The visit also highlighted the role of the Institute for Innovative Learning as a hub for educational innovation, learning design, and educational technology<\/strong>, connecting academic knowledge and innovative practices with the evolving needs of higher education. Through its expertise in innovative learning, digital learning environments, educational technology, and faculty development, IL contributes to strengthening the capacity of educators and supporting the transformation of learning experiences in response to the digital era.<\/p>\n

From an impact perspective<\/strong>, the benchmarking exchange creates opportunities for mutual learning and the sharing of good practices between higher education institutions across countries. The exchange of experiences in AI-enhanced learning, active learning, and educational technology can contribute to the development of more responsive learning environments, strengthen academic and faculty capabilities, and support the continuous improvement of educational programs.<\/p>\n

The visit further reflects the Institute for Innovative Learning\u2019s contribution to building international academic networks and fostering knowledge exchange in educational innovation<\/strong>. By opening spaces for dialogue and collaboration with international partners, IL supports the development of new perspectives, potential academic collaborations, and opportunities for future joint initiatives in curriculum development, faculty capacity building, and innovative learning ecosystems.<\/p>\n
