The Institute for Innovative Learning (IL), Mahidol University, organized the “STEM & Robotics Innovation Showcase and Business Matching for Educational Technology Commercialization” on August 3, 2026, at the Chailerd Pichitpornchai Conference Room (Room 101), 1st Floor, Institute for Innovative Learning, Mahidol University, Salaya, Nakhon Pathom. Held under the Mahidol Connect Project, the event provided a platform to connect the University’s knowledge, research, and educational innovations with external organizations, while creating opportunities for knowledge exchange and the development of practical and sustainable collaborations.
The Institute for Innovative Learning has a key mission to develop knowledge, research, and educational innovations, as well as provide academic services to enhance the quality of learning in Thailand. For more than six years, the Institute has continuously developed and delivered initiatives in STEM, Coding, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Robotics, including student skill-development camps, teacher training programs, and collaborative curriculum development with various organizations. These ongoing efforts have generated accumulated expertise, knowledge, experience, and academic service models with strong potential for further collaboration with the education sector and industry.
Against this background, the event was designed as a platform to showcase the Institute’s capabilities, research outputs, educational innovations, and service models, while enabling external organizations to experience selected activities, exchange perspectives, and explore collaboration opportunities tailored to their specific needs. The initiative represents an important step in connecting university-based knowledge and innovation with real-world applications and creating pathways toward educational innovation, academic services, research and development, and future commercialization.
The event featured three key components: Innovation Showcase, presenting the Institute’s services and innovations in STEM, Coding, AI, IoT, and learning innovation; Hands-on Experience / Mini Workshop, allowing participants to experience selected activities firsthand and explore practical applications of educational technology; and Business Matching Session, providing opportunities for one-on-one discussions to co-design potential collaboration models aligned with the needs and contexts of participating organizations.
The opening ceremony was attended by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mon-amorn Precharat, Project Head, who delivered the project report, followed by the opening remarks from Asst. Prof. Dr. Piyachat Jittatham, Director of the Institute for Innovative Learning, Mahidol University. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kritsada Atsawaskulkiat, Deputy Director for Academic Services and Industry Collaboration, Technology and Innovation Management Institute, also shared perspectives on collaboration between the two institutions, highlighting the importance of connecting university knowledge, technology, and innovation with external sectors to create tangible value and practical applications.
As part of the Innovation Showcase, participants were introduced to the Institute’s academic services in STEM & Coding, as well as educational technology activities and teacher training programs, presented by Dr. Phongphatai Kitroongrojjanaporn. The session also featured a Presentation of Collaboration Models, demonstrating potential approaches through which external organizations can apply the Institute’s expertise, activities, and educational services within their own contexts.
Participants then engaged in a Mini Workshop led by a team of facilitators, including Dr. Phongphatai Kitroongrojjanaporn, Mr. Namchok Khunmuenwong, Mr. Patcharasit Piyacharoen, and Mr. Phattanaphong Khonthiang. The hands-on session enabled participants to experience learning activities directly before moving on to the Business Matching session, where invited guests and external organizations explored potential areas of collaboration and discussed opportunities for joint development.
The collaboration and service models presented during the event covered a wide range of activities, including student development camps, presented by Mr. Namchok Khunmuenwong, Ms. Jiraporn Karaket, and Mr. Patcharasit Piyacharoen; teacher training, CSR activities, and research and innovation collaboration through MOUs, presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mon-amorn Precharat and Asst. Prof. Dr. Pirom Chenprakhon; as well as short courses and other academic services, presented by Ms. Atcharaphan Phothong and Mr. Phattanaphong Khonthiang. This diverse portfolio reflects the Institute’s capacity to design flexible educational services that respond to the needs of learners, teachers, educational institutions, and partner organizations.
The event also served as an important mechanism for the Institute to translate educational knowledge and learning innovations into practical applications. By bringing together its accumulated experience in STEM, Coding, AI, and Robotics and presenting these through interactive activities and collaboration-oriented discussions, the Institute created opportunities for participants not only to learn about its capabilities, but also to experience, discuss, and explore how these innovations could be applied in real-world contexts. At the same time, direct engagement with external partners provided valuable insights into their needs and challenges, which can inform the continuous improvement of the Institute’s academic services and educational innovations.
From an impact perspective, the initiative contributes to strengthening an ecosystem of collaboration among the University, the education sector, and industry. Rather than limiting engagement to information exchange, the Business Matching approach encourages partners to move toward co-designing activities, curricula, research projects, and innovations that address real-world needs. In this ecosystem, the Institute for Innovative Learning contributes as a key connector between the University’s knowledge, expertise, and learning innovation resources and the needs of external partners. This role creates opportunities to strengthen the capabilities of learners and teachers, support educational development, and transform academic knowledge into value for society.
The collaborations initiated through the event can further develop into knowledge exchange, curriculum development, joint activities, professional training, CSR initiatives, research and innovation projects, and formal partnerships through MOUs. These opportunities can expand the reach and application of the Institute’s educational innovations across diverse contexts while generating benefits for learners, educational institutions, partner organizations, and society at large.
The “STEM & Robotics Innovation Showcase and Business Matching for Educational Technology Commercialization” therefore goes beyond being a conventional showcase. It serves as a strategic platform connecting “Knowledge – Innovation – Networks – Utilization”, reinforcing the Institute for Innovative Learning’s role in translating its expertise in learning innovation and educational technology into meaningful partnerships and real-world applications. Through this approach, the Institute continues to advance educational innovation from the University to society, creating opportunities for collaboration, scaling innovation, and generating sustainable value and impact for education and the wider community.
