Participation in the Workshop Project: Transforming Mahidol University into a Model of Higher Education Institution for Human Rights, May 28, 2026

Assistant Professor Dr. Piyachat Jittam, Director of the Institute for Innovative Learning, Mahidol University, participated in the workshop project titled “Transforming Mahidol University into a Model of Higher Education Institution for Human Rights” on May 28, 2026, at Room 109, Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies, Mahidol University, Salaya.

The workshop was organized as a concrete continuation of Mahidol University’s Human Rights Policy Declaration announced on April 23, 2026. The event brought together university executives and experts to collaboratively advance the university toward becoming a leading higher education institution in human rights.

During the program, Professor Dr. Sompop Prathanturarug, Vice President for Strategic Planning, Quality Development and Social Engagement, delivered a lecture and shared perspectives on the topic, “How Can We Become Partners in Driving Mahidol University toward Becoming a Model Human Rights University?”

In addition, Dr. Watcharuthai Boonthinnun, Chair of the ASEAN University Network on Human Rights Education (AUN-HRE), together with Assistant Professor Dr. Pattheera Nakurairot and Mr. Vitchukorn Suriyawongpaisarn, led an intensive workshop session on applying the Human Rights-Based Approach (HRBA) in both teaching and research practices.

The event concluded with remarks by Associate Professor Dr. Sitthiwat Lertsiri, Vice President and Acting Director of the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies, who outlined the direction for elevating Mahidol University as a leading human rights university.
