The Institute for Innovative Learning, Mahidol University, organized the cultural event “Preserving Thai New Year Traditions: Songkran Festival 2026” to celebrate and promote the rich heritage of Thai traditions.
The event featured a variety of activities, including:
- An exhibition on Songkran traditions and the Songkran Goddess, presented through informative display boards;
- A royal tribute exhibition honoring Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, titled “Thai Textiles: A Beautiful Diversity,” showcasing her contributions to the promotion of Thai silk and traditional fabrics through the SUPPORT Foundation, with displays of exquisite Thai textiles such as Mudmee silk, Praewa silk, and other local fabrics;
- A lotus-folding activity for paying respect to the Buddha image, Phra Buddha Mahidol Mongkol Panyayan;
- A traditional water-pouring ceremony over Buddha images (Song Nam Phra); and
- A respectful water-pouring ceremony to seek blessings from senior executives.
The event was attended by executives, faculty members, staff, and students, reflecting a strong sense of cultural appreciation and community engagement.
The activity was held on April 10, 2026, at the Chailerd Pichitpornchai Conference Room (Room 101), 1st Floor, Institute for Innovative Learning, Mahidol University.
