The Institute for Innovative Learning (IL), Mahidol University, organized the “AI for Teaching and Learning Workshop: The Use of ChatGPT & Gemini AI for Developing Teaching and Learning Management for Academic Staff” for academic staff and educational personnel of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) on July 15, 2026, at Room A416, 4th Floor, Athitayathorn Building, Mahidol University International College.
The workshop was designed to strengthen faculty members’ competencies in applying generative artificial intelligence (Generative AI) to enhance teaching and learning through an intensive hands-on learning experience. Participants engaged in practical activities using ChatGPT and Gemini AI to design learning activities, develop formative assessments, create assessment strategies, and redesign courses aligned with the University’s academic framework, including MU3, Course Syllabus, Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), General Education Learning Outcomes, and other institutional teaching and learning resources.
In addition to practical AI applications, the workshop emphasized the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence in higher education. Participants explored key issues related to data accuracy, privacy protection, AI bias, source verification, authorship, and academic integrity, enabling them to integrate AI into their teaching practices responsibly while maintaining academic standards and fostering trustworthy learning environments.
The workshop was led by Associate Professor Dr. Chailerd Pichitpornchai, Lecturer in the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, and Advisor to the Institute for Innovative Learning. Recognized for his expertise in ChatGPT and Gemini AI applications, learning and memory, and educational media and instructional innovation, Dr. Chailerd shared practical strategies and real-world examples demonstrating how AI can be effectively integrated into curriculum design, classroom activities, assessment, and faculty professional development.
Through this initiative, the Institute for Innovative Learning reaffirms its commitment to advancing educational innovation and supporting faculty development in the era of artificial intelligence. By promoting the effective, ethical, and learner-centered use of AI, the Institute continues to equip educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to transform teaching practices, enhance learning outcomes, and prepare students for the rapidly evolving digital future.
