The Institute for Innovative Learning (IL), Mahidol University supported faculty development in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) for learning assessment through the professional development workshop “AI for Professional Educators: Applying Artificial Intelligence to Enhance Teaching and Learning for Faculty Members.” The workshop, entitled “Applying Artificial Intelligence to Assessment and Evaluation for Faculty Members,” was organized by the Division of Educational Management, Mahidol University, and held online via Webex Meeting on July 20, 2026.
The workshop was designed to strengthen faculty members’ knowledge and practical skills in applying AI to assessment and evaluation in higher education. The program emphasized the alignment of AI with learning outcomes, the design of examinations, assignments, and assessment activities, as well as the development of assessment rubrics and constructive feedback. The training highlighted the role of assessment not only as a means of measuring student achievement but also as a powerful tool for promoting meaningful learning and continuous learner development.
On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Namkhang Srivattanarotai, Deputy Director for Education and Networking at the Institute for Innovative Learning, Mahidol University, was invited to serve as the keynote speaker. She delivered expert sessions on “Using AI to Design Examinations, Assignments, and Assessment Activities Aligned with Learning Outcomes” and “Using AI to Develop Assessment Rubrics and Constructive Developmental Feedback.” Through practical demonstrations and authentic case studies, participants explored effective strategies for integrating AI into assessment design and learned how these approaches can be adapted to enhance teaching and learning within their own courses.
The Institute’s contribution to this initiative reflects its recognized expertise in educational innovation, learning assessment, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), instructional design, and the integration of digital technologies into higher education.
